The Sunday Scaries & How Our Beta Test Is Shaping Launch 002
💀 Inside the Zombie Club: How We Built a Beta Testing Community for Launch 002
It’s Sunday. The kind of Sunday where the to-do list is long, the week ahead feels heavy, and you’re already bargaining with yourself about getting to bed at a reasonable hour.
Except sleep never really works that way, does it?
This is exactly what we’re building a solution for.
And right now, I’m sitting at a coffee shop (Kits Beach Coffee IYKYK) with the insane reality that we’re about to hit confirm on a massive first order for a revolutionary sleep product. Even though I know it’s right in my gut, it doesn’t make the process any less terrifying.
So I did what made the most sense—I asked the real experts. Not the industry suits. Not my uncle who had a bad night’s sleep. The women who actually live this struggle every single night.
This is how we built our beta testing community inside the Zombie Club. And why they’re now shaping the future of Sleep or Die.
Why I Didn’t Trust Myself to Make the Final Call
I’ve been deep in sleep research and testing for months. I know this industry. But that’s also the problem.
The deeper you are in an industry, the easier it is to miss what really matters.
So instead of assuming I had all the answers, I built a private community of women who already struggle with sleep—women who signed up, applied, and wanted to be part of shaping this.
The criteria?
🛑 No chronic insomnia requiring medication (we’re not here to replace medical treatment)
🔴 No pregnancy (we’re not formulating for that needs state unfortunatley)
🎯 GenZ & younger Millennials (the core of who we’re building for)
Because when I think about who should be guiding our research, it’s not a lab report. It’s the women in this group who actually live this problem.
An Isolating Problem That’s Finally Being Shared
The reality of poor sleep is deeply isolating.
Most people don’t openly talk about the frustration of lying awake at night, the exhaustion that follows, the guilt of feeling like it’s somehow their fault.
For many of the women in this beta group, this is the first time they’ve shared their sleep struggles with anyone.
And that alone is powerful.
We’re building more than a product. We’re creating a space where women feel seen in a category that has ignored them for too long.
How We Built the Beta Testing Community (And Why They Joined in Droves)
This wasn’t just another “get on the list” email sign-up.
✅ You had to apply. We made it clear—this wasn’t for everyone. You had to opt in, apply, and actually show up. That made it feel like something worth being a part of, and it allowed us to find the women who were the right fit.
✅ We made it personal. Every test sample is custom-labeled with their name, and they’ll be a core part of the research process—not just some passive user survey.
✅ They get the inside track. These women will be the first to know, the first to test, the first to experience what’s next. And they’ll always be a priority in this community.
And it worked.
Within three hours of sending out invites, 96% of the selected testers responded with their addresses.
That blew me away. In a world where people barely fill out surveys, this showed me just how much women are ready for something that actually helps them sleep.
A Different Kind of Beta Test
Most product beta tests feel like an afterthought—anonymous surveys, vague feedback forms, a transactional relationship between brand and tester.
One of our batches of beta tests going out 😏 any guesses what it is? 👀
We wanted this to feel different.
Every woman in this program isn’t just testing a product—they’re co-creating it. They’re getting a front-row seat to the process, shaping what we build, and making sure what we create actually works for the people who need it most.
It’s not just about gathering data. It’s about building something real, together.
The Truth: This Feels Big, and I’m Nervous
This first order I have to place on the brand new product feels massive. And while my gut tells me this is exactly what we need to be doing, big bets always come with doubt.
But then I see the response from the community. The speed at which they opted in. The fact that nine complete strangers on LinkedIn have already shared why Sleep or Die is different.
And I remind myself: this isn’t just an idea anymore. It’s happening.
My Ask: Be Part of It
💬 Drop a comment with your biggest sleep struggle. If it resonates, we might just add you to the next round of beta testing.
& if thats not you…
🔴 Know someone struggling with sleep? Share this post with them—we want to hear from more voices.
Because the way I see it, I don’t want to be the smartest person in the room. The community is the secret weapon. And this is just the beginning.
& for Sunday evening…I can confirm curing Sunday scaries does NOT come with watching White Lotus, esp since my Oura ring put me back into stress mode (WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?!?!) 🔴
See you next week,
Lo
Love your branding and what you’re doing!
